Ballard and Sons Funeral Home and Cremation Services - DalevilleDaleville – William Max Woolsey “Bill”, 69, of Tallmadge, Ohio. Bill passed into the hands of our Lord on Monday, February 23, 2026, and will be greatly missed. He was born October 2, 1956, in Linton, Indiana to Max Woolsey and Jeanne (Phillips) Woolsey.
Bill attended Daleville High School and was a 1975 graduate where he participated in track, baseball, and basketball. In basketball, he became the first Daleville High School player to score over 1,000 career points.
Shortly after high school and continuing during college at Ball State University, Bill worked part-time as a yard specialist with Carter Lumber in Anderson, Indiana. After graduating from Ball State University with a bachelor’s degree in business, Bill continued his career with Carter Lumber and eventually moved to their corporate headquarters in Kent, OH where he became a Millwork Buyer and was later part of the Operations team. For the last 25 years, Bill served as a SPF (Spruce-Pine-Fir) buyer on Carter’s commodity team, finishing his career with 48 years of service.
Bill was preceded in death by both his parents.
He is survived by his brother, David of Holland, Michigan.
Visitation will be held on Friday, March 6, 2026, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home in Daleville, with funeral services conducted immediately following with Pastor Ned Clark officiating. Graveside service and burial will be Saturday, March 7, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at Linton Municipal Fairview Cemetery in Linton, Indiana.
In Lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial contributions to be sent to the charity of their choice or Daleville High School in memory of Bill Woolsey.
