Gary Dean Trautman, age 74, passed away July 24, 2024 in Lizana, Mississippi.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Stewart and Betty Trautman; and in-laws, Albert and Dot Franklin.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Newahana Trautman; children, Brandon Trautman and Alisa Ladner (Jesse); grandchildren, Allie Ladner and Eli Ladner; siblings, Stewart Trautman (Aileen), David Trautman (Nila), Vicky Cospelich (Wayne), Cindy Miller (Frank), and Karen Castiglia (Mike); in-laws, Marlene Kemp, Fred Franklin (Martha), several nieces, nephews, great- nieces and nephews, and a great-great niece.
Gary was born in of Glendale, California and a native of Gulfport, Mississippi. After serving as an IT specialist in the United States Air Force for 20 years, he retired to his hometown of Lizana, Mississippi. Throughout his service, he was stationed in Florida, Mississippi, Texas, California, and Germany. Upon retirement, he worked an additional 20 years at Memorial Hospital, Gulfport in the IT department.
While stationed at Keesler, he enjoyed assisting with the Special Olympics held on the Air Base. He was also an active member of Campground Baptist Church.
To know Him was to love Him... He was an amazing provider who was loyal and loving to his family and could make you feel loved in so many ways; through advice, his humor, his hard work ethic, all of this made you love him thoroughly. He treated his friends like family, and was a great mentor to many. He was a faithful man who loved his Lord and Savior.
A memorial service will be 10:00 am to 11:00 am, July 30, 2024 at Campground Baptist Church.
