Gary Trulock

Gary Trulock was a strong man who had been fighting cancer and unfortunately lost his battle on April 11, 2014 at the age of 71. Gary was born in Sioux City, Iowa on October 24, 1942 to Elmer and Ethel Trulock. He moved to La Mirada, California as a young teen where he graduated in 1960 from Excelsior High School. Gary joined the Navy immediately following graduation and served on the USS George Clymer as a Machinist Mate 2nd class during the Vietnam War. Gary served our country for six years.
During his time in the Navy his family moved to Hanford, California. While in Hanford, Gary met his first wife, Sandra Durbin and had two sons, Joseph and Jason. In 1991 Gary married Tommeye McDougal in which he gained two step-children Vicki and Jack. He lost Tommeye to cancer in 2004.
Gary Trulock was one of the hardest working people around. He worked for SCE for 30 years as a lineman, and then retired to work on his walnut farm. Gary was always giving back to the community participating in fish fry's and volunteering at the Tulare Ag Show. He was involved in the Cabrillo Club, Garden Club and Elks Lodge. He enjoyed working with his hands; woodworking, gardening, cooking and fixing his property up with his son Jason with his dog Peaches close by as well as helping others.
Gary was a husband, a wonderful father, loving boyfriend of 8 years to Shirley Woods and a great friend. Gary will not only be missed by his loved ones, but by the whole community.
Gary enjoyed Pine Flat, the coast, mountains and visiting Alaska with Shirley by his side. He loved watching Drag Boat Racing, Sprint Car Racing, NASCAR; Dale Earnhardt Jr. was his favorite and the PBR. During his years he loved the lake where he water skied. He participated in harness racing and was also a part of the Bowling League in Hanford.
Gary has left behind his two sons; Jason Trulock and his girlfriend Charmaine Wojtas with her two children, Alexis and Cobi Kline. Joseph Trulock and his son Garrett Trulock. His step-daughter Vicki and her husband Kevin Prowski with their daughter Shay Lynne and granddaughter Jessie. His step-son Jack and his wife Vicky Zarley and their two sons Justin and Joel.
To my Dad
On April 11, 2014, I not only lost the best father anyone could ever ask for but also my best friend. I will forever remember the memories of us working together, our talks, and most of all our quality time with one another. You will be missed but never forgotten.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, April 25, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at First EV Lutheran Church; 9075 12th Avenue, Hanford, CA 93230. A Reception will be after services at Hanford Fraternal Hall; 1015 N. 10th Avenue, Hanford, CA 93230
