Professionally, Gary was the owner of GT Properties LLC and GT Construction. He was a skilled builder, brick mason, and heavy equipment operator. He graduated from Paradise Valley High School in Phoenix, Arizona, Class of 1966, and spent much of his youth in Arizona, where he owned a beloved property known as "The Cactus Patch"-his home away from home. Gary was deeply respected and loved by many-friends, business associates, music fans, and especially his family.

He is survived by his wife, Janet; and by the children of his first marriage: Michael (Terri), Laurie (James) Simmons, Gary Jr. (Shannon), and Richard (Carla). He is also survived by his first wife, Beverly. He was preceded in death by his second wife, Elizabeth (d. 2018).

Gary is also survived by stepchildren from his second wife: Julia (Jamie) Hunt and Jamie Hackathorn; and from his third wife: John M. (Elaine) Nichols and Jeff (Becky) Nichols.

He leaves behind five sisters and one brother: Linda (Steve) Poynter, Jennifer (Jerry) Morris, Deborah (Randy) Cain, Jackie (Dennis) Schofield, Joseph Jr. (Shelly) Tuttle, and Bobby Jo (Ron) Cokeley.

Gary's legacy lives on through his many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.
