God knew who he was before he was formed in his mother's womb. His name is Gary Verdrine-Latrell Velasquez-Toby, he was the only child to Rasheeda Audrey Velasquez and the first child to Gary Anthony Toby.
Gary, known to his family as "Poppi" and his friends as "Oso", entered this world on October 25, 2004, in Colorado Springs, CO.
Gary had a Christian upbringing and attended Sierra High School. He had a smile that would light up any room. He was funny, caring, giving, protective, outgoing, kind hearted and the life of the party. Gary was the Golden Child!
Gary transitioned on February 5, 2023 and was greeted at the gate by his grandfather Gary Toby, great grandfather Paul Maximo and his great Aunt Noreen Maximo.
To mourn his loss is his Mother Rasheeda Velasquez, his father Gary Toby, grandmothers Ophelia Velasquez and Brenda Copeland, grandfathers Paulinus A. Velasquez and Pastor Warren Copeland, Great grandmothers Idolly Maximo, Shirley Pitts and Barbara Velasquez, Great Grandfather Willie C. Pitts, aunties BreAnna Herring, Genesis Sims and Camille Velasquez, and uncles Willie Toby and Demetri Velasquez. Also mourning his loss is his Stepfather Damien Lewis, his Stepmother Jakeewa Tremble, sisters Shirley Toby, Madison Toby and Kamora Toby, brother King Toby, and stepsister Kianna Lewis and a village of great aunts, bonus aunts, great uncles, bonus uncles, cousins, bonus cousins and friends, too many to mention.
