Sharon Monette (Renfrow) Scott, 81, of Colorado Springs, Colorado, formerly of Mineral Wells, Texas, went to be with the Lord on September 24, 2025.
Sharon was born on August 5, 1944, in Perryton, Texas, to Leon Renfrow and Marjorie Renfrow Boswell. She married the love of her life, Kenneth Claude Scott, in 1963, and together they shared 62 years of marriage before his passing.
Sharon devoted her career to education, teaching for more than 30 years in the Mineral Wells Independent School District. She also spent 10 years teaching at Camp Zama in Tokyo, Japan, leaving a lasting impact on countless students across the world. A lifelong learner herself, Sharon graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in Abilene, Texas, and later earned her master’s degree from Tarleton State University.
After retiring, Sharon and Kenneth moved to Colorado Springs, where she found joy working in her yard, planting flowers, and helping Kenneth with landscaping. She had a gift for making things grow — both in her garden and in the lives of those she loved.
Sharon is survived by her son, Cary Scott and his wife, Tracy; granddaughter, Sarah (Scott) Barry and her husband, Brian; two great-grandchildren, Aria and Luke Barry; her sister, Leah (Renfrow) Hartigan and her husband, Bill; and her brother, Randy Renfrow.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Claude Scott; her parents, Leon Renfrow and Marjorie Renfrow Boswell; and her brother, Mark Renfrow.
Sharon will be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother and grandmother, dedicated teacher, and faithful friend. Her legacy of love, learning, and faith will continue to live on in all who knew her.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, October 3rd, 2025 at 2pm at Woodland Park Cemetery
