Gary Lee Waffle

Gary Lee Waffle, 74, of Dawsonville, GA passed away Saturday, August 30, 2025 at home surrounded by more love than it could hold.

Born September 30, 1950 in Orange, CA to the late Walter and Ruth Waffle, he had been living in Dawson County since 2016 having moved from Las Vegas, Nevada.

Gary previously worked in the Food Service Industry in different capacities, mainly management/district supervisor both with KFC and Sizzler. He then went on to initiate, own and operate his own family-ran business, Silverado Services, Inc., a bread-product distribution service. In his final years, Gary was employed as a bus driver for Dawson County School District. Even as he was fighting his cancer battle, he still yearned to uplift & encourage young minds and was able to in this capacity.

Gary and the family loved to go boating and camping, and he especially loved working in his yard, always striving to make it the pride of his neighborhood. More than anything, Gary truly enjoyed spending time with his family, always implementing happiness, humorous morale and support in any way he could. Adjusting his schedule to attend events for everyone around him and making his time well spent in a precious and valuable way.

He was a member of Cornerstone Christian Church in Dawsonville. And was proceeded in death by both parents and his brother, Donald Waffle.

He is survived by his wife of almost 50 years, Karen Waffle; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Smitty Smith, of Cumming, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Kristy Waffle of Acworth, GA; son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Jen Waffle of Tremonton, UT; nine grandchildren; sister and brother-in-law, Lynda and Don Remp of Nuevo, CA; sister-in-law and brother-in-law/cousin, Bill and Shirley Waffle of Cumming, GA; several nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Saturday, September 13, 2025 at 2:00 pm at:

Cornerstone Christian Church

236 Etowah River Rd

Dawsonville, GA 30534

Pastor Mike Frazier will officiate.

The family will receive friends for a time of remembrance at the church beginning at 1:00 pm, and there will be a reception with light refreshments following the service.
