Gary Watts Obituary

Visit the Harris-Hanlon Mortuary - Mountainair website to view the full obituary.
Gary Lee Watts, 73, of Mountainair entered fully into the presence of the Lord on the early morning of August 21, from his home, with his family at his side.
Gary was born November 8, 1948 to Orville T Bud and Virginia (Corliss) Watts. Gary was the youngest of 3 brothers. Marvin and Orvel who both preceded Gary in passing on. Gary is survived by his lovely bride of 51 years, Diane. His children, Traci and her husband Ronnie Frazier, and his son, Travis and his wife Danielle. Gary s legacy lives on in not only in his children, but also his 3 grandsons- Kyle and Korey Frazier, and Brian Watts- and many great grandchildren that he loved with all of his heart.
Gary Lee, as he was known by those who knew him best, was most assuredly a one of a kind man with many hats. He was a naval serviceman, contractor, county commissioner, sheriff, pastor, rancher, and other professions too many to be named. Gary was known for his larger than life personality where he could talk to someone for hours before even knowing who they were. He cared for those around him and worked hard to provide for those that needed help. No matter where Gary went, his love for Jesus and his story of salvation went with him.
Services will be held at Gran Quivira Church on Thursday September 1, 2022 ; viewing 9:30 am to 11:00 am and funeral services at 11:00 am. Burial will follow at the Mountainair Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Travis Watts, Brian Watts, Don Booth, Kyle Frazier, Korey Frazier and Ronnie Frazier. Honorary pallbearers will be Delbert Autrey, Greg Brazil, Jack Greene, Caiden Walls and Kaleb Frazier. If you have any stories of Gary- good, funny, uplifting...- please post it to Gary or Diane s Facebook page, bring it to the service or send it via mail to Travis Watts PO Box 685 Mountainair, NM 87036.
