Gary Russell Weaver, 77, of Hellertown, PA, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025. Born in Quakertown, Gary was the son of the late Charles Weaver, Sr., and the late Elsie (Ruch) Weaver. He is survived by his devoted wife of 48 years, Janis (Laub) Weaver, with whom he shared a life of deep love, laughter, and unwavering partnership.

Gary was a man defined by his strong character and determined spirit. Known affectionately by some friends as "Walt" and "Coyote" to his hunting brothers, he was loyal, dependable, and full of energy. A proud graduate of Hellertown High School, Class of 1966, Gary made history as the school's first district and regional wrestling champion-a distinction that foreshadowed a life marked by perseverance and distinction.

Gary served honorably in the United States Army as a Military Police Officer during the Vietnam War. His service to his country was a point of pride and a reflection of his deep sense of duty.

Gary's work ethic was unmatched. He was a perfectionist in all he did and believed in doing things the right way the first time. Throughout his life held positions at Bethlehem Steel, Champion Spark Plug, Exide Corporation, and retired from Ford Electronics/Visteon after many years as a maintenance foreman. True to his nature, retirement was simply a new beginning. He later went on to work at Amazon, Neighbors Home & Garden Center, and could often be found helping with a house or yard project. During his final years, he took on the role of steadfast and loving caregiver to Jan.

A passionate coach and community supporter, Gary volunteered for various Saucon Valley youth programs, including wrestling, baseball, football, and softball. He enjoyed attending all kinds of local sporting events, including his children's events when they were younger, going to Lehigh games with his brother, Jim, and most recently he was always present to cheer on his grandchildren at various sporting, dance, and school events. Even when not feeling his best, he still made it a priority to show up for his grandchildren, whose events brought him endless pride and joy.

Gary took great joy in life's simple pleasures-riding his bike along the Saucon Rail Trail, finding peace on his motorcycle, cheering on his beloved (and occasionally frustrating) Pittsburgh Steelers, and staying active at the gym. Gary made lasting friendships throughout his life and career. He had a knack for making new friends and always made a point of keeping in touch. He could often be found meeting those he cared for an early breakfast, and enjoyed many hunting and fishing trips, and days spent on the golf course.

Gary's legacy lives on through his children: daughters, Jessica Riehl and husband Tim, Andrea Policare and husband Rocco, and sons, Joshua Weaver and wife Jessica, and Jacob Weaver and wife Alison. He was the cherished "Poppy" to Sophia, Ava, Elliot, Piper, Liam, Kyleigh, Jackson, Logan, and Charlie. Gary is also survived by his sisters: Nancy Kleckner and Dawn Weaver, and several nieces, nephews, and extended family. He was predeceased by brothers, James Weaver and Charles Weaver, Jr., and sister, Carol Worman.

Services have been entrusted to Connell Funeral Home and will be private and held at the convenience of the family. Burial will take place at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.

In honor of Gary's memory, contributions may be made towards the purchase of a memorial along the Saucon Rail Trail-one of his favorite places. Donations can be made payable to Janis Weaver and mailed to: Connell Funeral Home, 245 E. Broad St., Bethlehem, PA 18018.
