Gaylord P. Pierson, 73, of LaGrange, Indiana, passed away on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne.
He was born on July 15, 1952, in LaGrange, to Paul E. and Mary Jean (Grate) Pierson.
Gaylord dedicated many years of his life to NIPSCO, where he worked as a machine operator and was responsible for installing gas lines. His strong work ethic and commitment to his trade earned him the respect of his colleagues.
Outside of work, Gaylord embraced life's simple pleasures. He loved going out for breakfast, especially at Chubby's in Orland, where he enjoyed good food and good company. A true motorcycle enthusiast, he had a special appreciation for Harley-Davidson bikes. Yet, his greatest automotive joy was his beloved 1973 Corvette, which he took great pride in.
He is survived by his brother, Gregory P. (Marsha) Pierson of Valparaiso, IN; and three nephews, Chad Gust, Jordan (Marika) Pierson, and Brandon (Sonja) Pierson.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Garry P. Pierson.
Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, August 1, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 West Michigan Street, LaGrange, IN. A graveside service will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Greenwood Cemetery in LaGrange, with Rev. Kenneth Weaver officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a meaningful tribute in Gaylord's honor: go out to breakfast and buy someone's meal-just as he so often enjoyed doing himself.
