Rodney D. Blankenship, 71, of LaGrange, IN, passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at The Waters of LaGrange.
Born on January 23, 1954, in McDowell, KY, Rodney was the son of Henry and Ruth (Gayheart) Blankenship. He spent many years as a dedicated truck driver for Miller Poultry.
Rodney had a passion for speed, whether it was stock car racing or drag racing. As much as he enjoyed racing, nothing compared to the time he spent with his family. His grandchildren were the light of his life, and he cherished every moment with them.
Rodney is survived by his daughters, Paula (Duane) Halferty of Wolcottville, IN, and Pam Stager of LaGrange, IN; his sons, Scott (Stephanie) Blankenship of LaGrange, IN, and Adam (Carly) Blankenship of Angola, IN; eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lisa (Ed Miller) Prior of Sturgis, MI, and Linda Pierson of LaGrange, IN.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandson, Logan Stager; and his brothers, Dallas and Ronnie Blankenship.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Frurip-May Funeral Home, 309 W. Michigan St., LaGrange, IN.
