In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made at in Gazena Dolphin's name.
Gazena, the daughter of Eppo and Jennie (Pomp) Gremmer was born September 14, 1926, in Spencer, Iowa. Up until the end, she maintained her kindness, grace, compassion, appreciation of beauty, love of family and friends, and expressed gratitude for her long life, full of wonderful and varied experiences.
Gazena married Kenneth Dolphin September 4, 1949, maintaining a loving and supportive marriage of almost 44 years up until Ken's passing in 1993. Together they raised four children, Michael, Judy, Dawn and Douglas and she was a second mom to many!
She enjoyed gardening, cards, bingo, puzzles, crocheting and traveling. Enjoying life to the fullest but slowing down a bit in her later years. Gazena loved time spent with her family.
She cherished her friendships, developing them at each stage of her life, out living most of them. At the time of her passing, she still had friendships from bingo and the Rosies. She was introduced to the Rosies when she moved to Oregon. As a Rosie, she worked at the Hemp Plant in Britt supporting WW2 and recently received a Congressional Gold Medal. She was so proud and loved being in the local parades, pumping that Rosie fist!
Gazena was a beloved person who appreciated all that life gave her. She had the most beautiful smile that was noticed and commented on by many. What a life well lived! She is leaving a void no one can fill.
She loved the Lord and is having a great time reuniting with her loved ones who passed before her.
We will never forget the love you brought to our lives.
We will love you forever and you will always be in our hearts.
Gazena is survived by her three children: Michael Dolphin, Dawn Curnes and Douglas Dolphin; three grandchildren: Amber Thomas, Chelsea Eisenhower and Justin Boyer; three great grandchildren: Isabella, Braden and Kayla; and three step-grandchildren: Buddy, Susan and Holly, and many nephews and nieces and their children.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, her daughter Judy Boyer, nine brothers and two sisters.
