Shirley Stecher, 90, of Clarion, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2025 at the Clarion Wellness and Rehabilitation Center.
A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, August 22, 2025, at St. John's Catholic Church, 608 2nd Avenue Northeast in Clarion.
Visitation will held an hour prior to the services at the church on Friday.
Shirley Ann Elizabeth Stecher, daughter of Edward and Margaret (Michels) Stecher, was born May 7, 1935, on a farm east of Renwick, Iowa, Wright County.
She attended country school, Lake #5, one year at St. John's Catholic School and Clarion High School, graduating in 1953. She worked at Northwestern Bell Telephone Company in Clarion; First Federal Savings in Fort Dodge; and First Citizens National Bank in Clarion.
She dearly loved taking care of her great niece and great nephews when they were little and was a close friend to them as they got older. She loved to dance and had many good friends from the dances. She also loved to travel.
She is survived by her nephews, Scott (Pam Bradshaw) Stecher and Douglas (Katie) Stecher; great niece Chelsey (Jason) Pyle and children Adalyn, Emmitt and Carter; great nephews Alex Stecher, Sawyer (Chelsea) Stecher and children Stuart and Stanley, Adam Stecher.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother Richard Stecher and his wife Marlene Stecher.
She wishes to thank Katie, Douglas, and Scott for all their help.
In lieu of flowers, donations maybe made directly to St. John's Catholic Church.
