Glenville Christian C. Stecher entered into eternal rest on January 10, 2025 at age 90. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Ruth; sister, Vera; 3 sons, Will (Terri), Tom (Helen), Pete (Faith); 9 grandchildren, Felicia Nordeen (Justin), Ryan (Jenn), Kara Martinez (Brandon), Chelsie, Melinda Rorie (Matt), Sam (Hannah), Devin, Zachary Burk, Haley Burk, and 9 great-grandchildren, Cadence, Baylen, Ty, Easton, Izzie, Layla, Reid, Ellie, and Duke. He briefly served in the Army Reserves and was released with Honorable Discharge. After graduating from Albany High School in 1952, he worked for General Electric (Bechtel/MAO) and retired in 2000 after 43 years of service. While working and helping raise a family, he persevered and earned his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Union College. He was an active member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Scotia. He took pleasure in water-skiing up to age 70, and also watching the water ski shows at Jumping Jacks in Schenectady through the 2024 season. He enjoyed the outdoors, time with family, and wonderful vacations together. He was a cool cat, gentle soul, remained healthy, and lived a good life. Viewing hours will be held at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church in Scotia, NY on Thursday, January 16, 2025 from 9am to 11am, followed by a service at 11am. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens in Albany. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be offered to the charity of your choice.
