Gene Allen Bovie

Gene Allen Bovie, 68, of Mesquite, Texas, went to be with the Lord surrounded by his loving family on September 20, 2025. He was born on August 6, 1957, in Marion, Indiana.

Gene loved spending time with his family, walking his dogs, and visiting family and friends in Indiana. He enjoyed going to church where he said the best part was hearing his daughter-in-law, Lauren, sing, watching his favorite sports teams, any Indiana team, while hollering at anyone for the opposition, "Who's your daddy?!?", and especially looked forward to taking his family to the state fair every year and riding every ride. Gene will be remembered as a generous and caring man who would do anything for his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ethel Mae Bovie and Harold Edwin Bovie, and his brother, Max Ellyson.

He is survived by his sons, Keanan (Lauren) Bovie of Royse City and Shay (Amanda) Bovie of Rowlett; the mother of his sons, Lisa Bovie, Garland, Texas, his grandson, Karson Bovie of Rowlett; his brother Gary (Vicki) Bovie of Garland, Texas, sister Vanasa (Richard) Preston , brothers David (Sue) Liddick, Marion, Indiana,and Butch (Carolyn) Bendixon, Marion, Indiana, Ronnie Bendixon of Gas City, Indiana ; nephew Brandan (Jessica) Bovie, Nathan Wilder, nieces Porshia (Raygan) Chantharojwong, Amberly (Mario) Preston, Deavan (Brad) Preston, great nephew Landon Bovie, great nieces Brooklynn Wilder, Sutton and Sawyer Seaback. As well as several nieces and nephews in Indiana.

Gene worked at Active Products in Marion, IN, retired from Benjamin Moore in Mesquite, Texas, then was employed at Sherwin-Williams in Garland, Texas, and was the Union Steward for Local 746 at the time of his passing.

Gene's love, kindness, and devotion to his family will be deeply missed but forever cherished.
