Gene Gerth Obituary

Iron Ridge, WI - Gene passed away peacefully in his home on Aug 10th 2025 at the age of 91. He was born in Hartford to Fred and Martha (Braemer) Gerth. He took over the family farm that he loved so much. He enjoyed watching the crops mature and harvest time. He believed in planting trees to keep the assorted wildlife on the farm.

He married Elaine Wegener on May 22nd 1957. They had a daughter Cathy and continued their quiet farm life. He was a devoted husband and father. He loved to do outings with his grandchildren and then great grandchildren, which created so many unforgettable memories for them.

He is survived by his daughter Cathy (David) Germain, 6 grandchildren Kurtiss Keel, Kasie (Dolores) Keel, Eric Girten, Kelly Kluewer , Mindy (Tim) Harwood , Shelby (Clayton ) Shields. Also survived by ten precious great grandchildren

Visitation is Friday August 15, 2025 from 10am-11:30am at the Berndt-Ledesma Funeral Home. 136 N. Lake Street, Hustisford, WI. Funeral service will follow at 11:30 at the funeral home. Rev. David Repp will officiate. Interment Hustisford Cemetery, Hustisford, WI. Memorials to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lebanon are appreciated.

Special thank you to Nurse Lisa and Aide Kelly from Aurora Hospice and the hospice team in general for their gentle care for Gene , It takes special people to do the work they do and we cannot thank them enough.
