Funeral Services for Mr. Gene Kerry will be held at 11 am on Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home with Bro. Matthew Pagels officiating. Burial will follow at Emmanuel Cemetery in Chopin, LA. The family will receive friends from 9 am until service time on the 8th at Blanchard-St. Denis Funeral Home. Those honored to serve as pallbearers include Justin Kerry, Justin McDonald, Travis Kerry, Lucky Kerry, Cooper Kerry, and Landin McDonald. Honorary pallbearers will be Lester Berry, Kimberly McDonald, and Stephen Berry.
Gene, 82 years of age and a resident of Natchitoches, passed away August 6, 2023. He was born on December 4, 1940 to Esmay and Isabelle (Bynog) Kerry in Cloutierville, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Neil Kerry; and his brothers, Michael Kerry, Daniel Kerry, Ray Kerry, Raymond Kerry and Shane Kerry.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 61 years, Nancy Bynog Kerry; his children, Karen Kerry, Gerald Kerry and Nina Berry and her husband Lester; grandchildren, Stephen Berry, Kimberly McDonald and her husband Justin, Justin Kerry, and Jodi Kerry; great grandchildren, Katelyn McDonald, Landin McDonald, Sophi Kerry, Cooper Kerry, and Dustin Williams; his brothers, Peter Kerry, Lucky Kerry, Travis Kerry, and May Kerry; his special dog, Daisy; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Gene worked for the Natchitoches Parish Police Jury until he was unable to work due to an accident. He enjoyed working in his yard and he possessed a green thumb and could make anything he planted grow to be impressive. He loved animals and was especially fond of his dogs Patches and Daisy. He truly loved his family and in turn they deeply loved him. His favorite times were when he was surrounded by his family at social gatherings. Gene will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
