Gene Mathis Obituary

Gene dearly loved his wife and children. Before he retired, he worked as an electrician for IBEW Local Union 175 in Chattanooga.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claudis H. Mathis and Myrtle Reynolds Mathis.
Gene is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Louise Barfield Mathis; daughters, Melissa (Tom) Trotter, Susan Edgeman, and Niki (Mike) Kelley; son, Neil (Karen) Mathis; seven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, November 13, at the LaFayette Memory Gardens with Pastor Billy Christol officiating.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons.
Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
