Gene J. Scott

Gene J. Scott, age 98, passed away October 27, 2025. He was born on October 24, 1927, in Ardmore, Oklahoma, to the late Ruth Reed Scott and G. Joseph Scott. A long-time resident of Norman Oklahoma, Gene graduated from Norman High School and went on to receive a Master's degree from the University of Oklahoma in Industrial Education. After graduation, Gene worked for the University as head of the instrument shop in the Physics Department. A plaque on his shop wall read "Fast. Good. Cheap. Choose 2." An excellent wood worker, gun enthusiast, and inventor, Gene loved working with his hands and learning new things.

Gene was preceded in death by the love of his life and wife of 68 years, S. Colleen Whittle Scott; a daughter-in-law, Tera Cline Scott; and granddaughter, Sarah Katherine Crumpley. He is survived by his children, David Gene Scott and wife Jutta of Orangeburg, South Carolina, Michael Jay Scott of Norman, Oklahoma, Ruanne Elizabeth Scott Crumpley and husband Rob of Broomfield, Colorado, and Cynthia Colleen Scott Tuttle and husband Joe of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; 17 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and his sister, Mary Beth Scott Dragoo of Norman, Oklahoma.
