Born to Eternal Life on July 31, 2023 at the age of 91. Beloved husband of Ann (nee Mark) for 64 years. Son of the late Mary and the late Peter. Loving dad of Tracy (Todd) Borgardt, Peter (Chris), Mike (Shelley), Jenny (Peter) Pham and Sarah (Jeff) Lindert. Proud grandpa of Max (Jess), Jackson (Sarah), Mitchell (Josh), Cass, Niko, Mikhail, Isabella, Zoey, Cole, Javan, Jesse (Minami), Jeroen and Keeley. Great grandpa of Fiona, Nolan and Jonah. Dear brother of the late Dorothy (the late Charlie) Brede, the late Paul (the late Alice), the late Joe (the late Lil and Mary), the late Al (the late Monica), the late Norb (the late Betty), the late Fr. Jim, the late Betty (the late Jerry) Demeter, the late Rose (Frank) Jennik. Brother-in-law of the late Peter (the late Mary Ann) Mark, the late Jack (Kay), the late Mary Jane Murray, the late George (the late Pat) Mark, the late Nancy (Bill) Sidesky and the late Joe (the late Joan) Mark. Special "uncle" of Sr. Joan Brede. Further survived by godchildren, 64 nieces and nephews, many other relatives, friends and business associates.
Memorial Visitation Wednesday August 16, 2023 from 12 pm -1:45 pm with a Mass of Christian Burial at 2 PM at St. Mary Catholic Faith Community (9520 W. Forest Home Avenue, Hales Corners).

Gene was a proud graduate of Pius XI High School class of 1950 and the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He served his country in the Army, was the founder of Stefaniak Realty and was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus and the Kiwanis Club. Gene was the Past President of the Milwaukee Board of Realtors, was named Realtor of the Year and was the first recipient of the Lifetime Achievement Award.
