In Loving Memory Of
Gene Voss
Eugene "Gene" Alfred Voss, the son of Frank and Clara (Kellen) Voss, was born on October 1, 1940 in Des Moines River Twp., Murray Co., MN. He grew up on the farm and attended country school and graduated from Slayton High School in 1959. He served in the U.S. Army from 1960 to 1963. Gene was united in marriage to Betty Bonnstetter on June 5, 1965 in West Bend, IA. After their marriage they lived in the Avoca and Fulda areas their entire married life. He remained at their home in Fulda after Betty died in February of 2019. Gene passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025 at the Good Samaritan Society in Windom, MN at the age of 84. He was a member of St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Fulda. He enjoyed gardening, flowers, reading and watching and feeding birds.
Survivors include his 2 daughters, Angie (Jim) Fogel of Cambridge, MN and Kim (Clarence) Scott of Alexandria, MN; 1 grandchild; 2 great-grandchildren and 11 siblings, Claire Gieselman, Pat Hattendorf, Sharon Johnson, Leo (Judy) Voss, Steve (Carol) Voss, Stanley Voss, Dan (Caren) Voss, Mark (Mary) Voss, Anna (Dave) Malay, Robert (Sharyn) Voss and Ed (Roxanne) Voss and sister-in-law, Edna Esser. He is preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, Jim, Tom, Dick, Patrick and Paul Voss and 4 sisters, Leona, Carol, Lois and Virginia.
Funeral Services
St. Gabriel's Catholic Church Fulda, MN at 10:30 AM on Friday, April 11, 2025 with Fr. Peter Schuster celebrating. The organist is Dana Hogan. The song leader is Ken Salentiny. The pallbearers are Brian Voss, Jason Voss, Don Elskamp, Duane Hattendorf, Terry Johnson, Dennis Gieselman, Paul Elskamp and Joel Voss. Interment at St. Rose of Lima Cemetery Avoca, MN.
Visitation will be Thursday from 4 to 6 PM at St. Gabriel's Catholic Church in Fulda and one hour prior to the service at the church on Friday. The Totzke Funeral Home in Fulda is assisting the family with arrangements.
In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
