September 3, 1930 - May 22, 2025
Geneva Ruth Johannes, 94, went to her heavenly home on May 22nd, 2025, surrounded by family and friends. Her graveside service will be held at 11am on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Mitchell City Cemetery. Memorials are to Trinity Lutheran Church of Morrill, Nebraska. Geneva was born on September 3rd, 1930, in Greeley Colorado to Emmett and Pauline Dick. She graduated from Huntley High School in Wyoming. She married Phillip Johannes on January 24, 1954, In Torrington Wyoming. After her marriage, she worked at Chester B. Brown Company for 18 years as a bookkeeper. She also volunteered at the hospital, delivering cards and flowers. After Phil's retirement they did a lot of travelling, which they enjoyed very much. Geneva enjoyed knitting and embroidery, as well as working with her flowers outside. Geneva was a lifetime member of the Missouri Synod Lutheran church.
She is survived by nieces, Cindy Anderson (David), Debra Hopp (Jon), Jann Osborn (Kim), Paula Conrad (Mike), Carol McGregor (Kevin); and nephew, Roger Huckfeldt (Jennifer); as well as numerous great-nieces and nephews.
A heartfelt thank you to her special friends, Kim Schledewitz and Dave Knoles.

Geneva and Phil were very good friends of my parents, Rose and Harry Grasmick. Hopefully they are now reunited and can be friends forever.
I have such fond memories of Geneva's kindness and sweet nature.
