Geneva May Laprairie, age 83 of Lettsworth, passed away on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Christus St. Francis Cabrini Hospital surrounded by her loved ones.
In honoring Geneva’s wishes, she preferred to not have a funeral service but to be laid to rest with her mother at the Simmesport United Methodist/Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
Let’s fondly remember her as the person she was, honoring her unique spirit and the special memories she shared with us. Geneva was a devoted mother, grandma, & great-grandma. She loved to cook, plant flowers, and raise her chickens and rabbits. She was a sweet kind soul that was always smiling.
Those left to cherish her memory are her 4 children: Carroll Laprairie of Lettsworth, Darrell (Nancy) Laprairie of Pineville, Pamela (Ray) Moreau of Bordelonville, and Norma (Dennis) Mayeaux of Simmesport; siblings, Alberta Moreau, Irma Winamaker, and Clint Bonnette. She is also survived by 7 grandchildren: Crystal Rogers, Russell (Erika) Rogers, Melisa (Kevin) Couvillion, Jessica (Tim) Bonds, Cheyenne (Keith) Bordelon, Chasity (Tiffany) Laprairie, Brandon (Brooke) Laprairie; 20 great-grandchildren: Jada, Triston, Cole, Katelyn, Angel, Sky, Heaven, Star, Cloud, Grace, Gage, Gavin, Paislee, Mya, Clay, Addilyn, Brandon, Jr., Braylie, Benton, Briella; 1 great-great-grandchild, Kyson.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Anderson Bowman, Sr. & Lola Bowman; siblings, Newman Bowman, Clyde Bowman, Anderson “Dacky” Bowman, Jr., John Bowman, Huey Bowman, and Leon Bowman.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Escude Funeral Home (318-964-2324) 625 Main St. Simmesport, LA 71369.
