Geneva Tucker "Bit" Meshack

Geneva Tucker Meshack was born on August 31, 1938, in Marion, Alabama, to Deacon Lovelace Tucker and his beloved wife, Louise Kynard Tucker. Raised in a God-centered home, she embraced Christian values early and walked in them throughout her life, trusting fully in the Lord. A passionate scholar, Geneva attended Alabama State University and later Prairie View A&M University, where she completed both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Education. Teaching was not simply her career-it was her calling. She devoted 39 exemplary years to the Temple Independent School District. In 1966, Geneva united with Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. C.S. Williamson. She faithfully served in multiple capacities, including President of the Women's Ministry, Vice President of the Combined Choir, Member of Naomi Circle, Mission Chorus, the Women of Judah Praise Dance Team, and Chair of the Church Beautification Committee. Geneva was also active in Mission I Ministry of St. John Regular District Association, Missionary Baptist General Convention of Texas and National Baptist Convention of America.
Geneva was an active and respected member of numerous civic and cultural organizations. She was a proud Member of the Ebony Cultural Society, Member of Church Women of Temple, Past Basileus of the Gamma Psi Zeta Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., a Life Member of the Prairie View A&M University Alumnae Association, Member of the Central Texas Chapter of Prairie View A&M University Alumnae Association, and a dedicated Member of the Bell County Retired Teachers' Association.
Geneva was known for her refined elegance, impeccable fashion, and love for gardening. She believed that excellence honors God in her appearance, demeanor, and presence. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Deacon Lovelace Tucker and Louise Kynard Tucker; her cherished sisters, Wardell Clark and Juanita Bolling; her godson, Christopher Smith; and niece, Jacqueline Felton.
Her legacy of faith, excellence, and grace will continue to shine in the lives of all who were blessed to know her.
Geneva leaves to cherish her memory a host of family, loved ones, and dear friends whose lives were deeply touched by her presence. She is remembered with love by her longtime companion, Mr. Bruton Earl Jones, Sr: his children, whom she lovingly embraced as her own-Bruton Jones, Jr(Irene)., Vicky Pacifico (Jane), Ambrose Jones, Constance Jones and Lamont Jones; her devoted godson, Larry Sams; and her caring sister-in-law, Wanda Meshack Smith (Elbert). She is also fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews: Jessica Billingsley, Sandra Hinton, Steven Bolling, Stanley Bolling, and Donald Bolling Varden Grayer, Wesley Williams, James Hollins, Rachae Love, Rev. Kenneth Garner, Jason Burrell, LaWanda Burrell Ethridge, DeVon Meshack, Elbert, and Don Smith II. From her early years in Marion, she shared a devoted and enduring friendship with Dean and Lucille, a bond that remained steadfast throughout her life. She also formed a special and meaningful connection with Connie and Winifred Harrison, as well as with the late James and Beverly Burrell, whose friendship enriched her life and brought her great joy. Though she did not have children of her own, Geneva lovingly poured into everyone around her-nurturing, guiding, and inspiring multiple generations who will forever carry her legacy in their hearts.
