Brandon Alan Bruggman, 37, passed away on October 28, 2025, in Temple, TX.

Memorial service will be at 11:30am on November 15th, 2025, at Emanuel Christian Church at 1300 N. Vine St., Abilene KS 67410

Brandon was born on July 2, 1988, to Alan Wayne and Toni Lee Bruggman. Brandon grew up in Temple, TX graduating from local schools, before joining the United States Army. In the army, Brandon was stationed at Fort Riley, KS where he met the love of his life, Nichole. They went on to marry, and on his birthday in 2010, they welcomed their daughter, Zoey Lee into the world.

Brandon lived his life to the fullest. He was first and foremost a father, but he was also a friend, a coach, a music lover, and a self proclaimed animal whisperer. He poured himself into Zoey’s hobbies, becoming her #1 fan in everything she did. From converting their garage into an indoor practice facility for softball, to signing her up for any type of music lesson possible, Brandon made sure that any and every opportunity she could want was available to Zoey. Personalized license plates and window decals sporting her name and softball number donned every vehicle Brandon owned. His love for music shines on through Zoey’s incredible gift and talent. After his love for Zoey, came his immense love for his animals. There was nothing he wouldn’t do for an animal, including but not limited to: bottle feeding and diapering a sick chicken, using his bare hands to clean out his pet pig’s ears and dog’s slobber, and learning how to train his beloved deaf service dog, Helen. Brandon always made sure any animal in his presence was taken care of. He was rarely seen without Helen, taking her everywhere with him, often times with her right in the front next to him, while Zoey ended up in the back seat.

Brandon was funny, quick witted, and passionate. Never one to let a joke go untold, he always had a quick come back, or an out-of-pocket statement ready to go. One thing about Brandon, you never knew what was going to come out of his mouth. He never did anything halfway. He had a jersey and a matching pair of converse for every occasion. During his short stint in a rock band, an entire studio was set up in the basement, right next to his massive Converse collection, which was perfectly displayed in clear cases, taking up an entire wall. He could spend hours listening to, and creating music in his studio, which was his happy place. He could often be spotted in the morning on the deck letting the animals out, or in the yard tending to the chickens in his fluffy, ridiculous house robes. Brandon kept his circle small, but if you were lucky enough to be a part of it, then you knew there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for you. Brandon’s personality was big, but his love for his family and friends was bigger.

Brandon was proceeded in death by his parents, Wayne and Toni, and a brother, Michael Wayne. He is survived by his daughter, Zoey Lee, her mother Nichole, a brother Shann Welcelean and wife Yvonne, a sister Brittany Lee Bruggman, and last but not least, his faithful companion to the very end, his beloved Helen. Our hearts are heavy, but how lucky are we to have had a love that has caused us to mourn so deeply.

The family has chosen cremation. Funeral services will November 15th, 2025, in Abilene, KS where he will be laid to eternal rest, and finally be at peace.

Flowers can be ordered at The Flower Box, 421 N. Spruce St, Abilene, KS 67410, 785-263-2828 They can deliver to the Church.
