Genevia "Jeannie" Nassif (Estes) passed away peacefully at Sheffield Bay Thursday, January 26, 2024, at the age of 95. She was born July 18, 1928 in Alger, Michigan to the late Charles and Dora (Renn) Estes. Jeannie deeply loved and cared greatly for her family. She always had or made time for each of them. Along with caring for her family and home, Jeannie worked for the General Motors Corporation for over 30 years as an accountant. Jeannie loved to shop. She and her daughter Michelle would spend their Saturdays together shopping, followed by lunch. QVC was her favorite television program. Jeannie also liked to play cards, but only when it involved money. She would spend hours delightfully playing the card game Rummy or "Up and Down the Ladder" as it was affectionately called. Jeannie enjoyed decorating and had a flair for interior design. She kept a beautiful home.
Living now to cherish her memory are her daughter Michelle Micsak and Michelle's partner Gary Hugo; her grandson, Jeff Burdick and his partner Breanna Smith; and her two granddaughters, Aubree Burdick and baby Ayla Burdick, who is expected to arrive in April. She is also survived by her brother in law Michael (Mary Ann) Nassif. Jean was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Estes; step-brothers, Vernon and Orville Estes, and in laws, Bernadine (Ray) Hanway, Sarah (James) Rallis, Marcia (Joseph) Abdouch, Samuel (Kathy) Nassif, Pete (Billie) Nassif, Sena (Louis) Galle and her ex-husband and friend, Bernard J. Nassif.
Michelle and family would like to extend gratitude and thanks to the Care Team of Cardinal / Transitions Hospice and the staff of Sheffield Bay for the care and compassion Jeannie received.
A Funeral Service celebrating Jeannie's life will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, February 1, 2024 at Squires Funeral Home 211 N. Henry Street. Fr. James Wm. Bessert will preside with private interment in St. Stanislaus Cemetery. Family and friends may gather for visitation at Squires Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 31, 2004 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. and one hour before the service on Thursday. Those considering a donation in her name may wish to consider Cardinal / Transitions Hospice. An online guestbook is available to leave condolences at www.ambroseandsquires.com
