Saying Goodbye to a Brother, Son, Father, Nephew, a Friend, and a Legend: Remembering George Nassif
George Thomas Nassif, 61, of Wheeling, WV, died Sunday, June 1, 2025.
He was born August 17, 1963, son of Rose Pentino Nassif and the late George Nassif.
Words feel inadequate when trying to capture the essence of someone so vibrant, so loved, and so unapologetically themselves. Today, our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye to George Nassif, our baby brother, a man who lived life to the fullest and on his own terms.
It's hard to really grasp the reality that George is no longer with us. He was a force of nature, a personality that filled a room and left an unforgettable imprint on everyone he met. We will always cherish the countless moments we shared with him, moments that are now precious memories etched into our hearts.
George was a master storyteller, a weaver of tales that could make you laugh until your sides hurt or bring a tear to your eye with their raw emotion. Life will undoubtedly feel different without his stories, without that unique perspective and infectious energy he brought to every conversation.
He lived his life with a passion that was truly inspiring. He embraced adventure, chased his dreams, and never apologized for being exactly who he was. That unwavering authenticity is a quality that will be deeply missed.
As we navigate this painful loss, we find comfort in the memories we shared with George. We know that many of you have your own special moments with him, stories that capture his spirit and celebrate his life. We would love to hear them. Sharing these memories will help us keep his spirit alive and bring us all a little closer during this difficult time. Please feel free to share your stories, anecdotes, and reflections about George - the funny, the poignant, the unforgettable.
We love you and miss you already, George. We can only imagine the gates of heaven opening wide to welcome you, another angel receiving his wings. May your memory be a blessing to us all.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Nassif.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his three sisters, Debra (Rick) Raleigh-McLean, Lynn (Michael) Raleigh-Tellez and Cheryl Nassif-Marshall; son, Zachary Nassif; best friend, Ranger; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends and family will be received Friday, June 6, 2025 from 3 PM until the time of memorial service at 5 PM with Deacon Doug Breiding officiating at Kepner Funeral Home, 166 Kruger St., Wheeling (304-242-2311).
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to The Soup Kitchen of Greater Wheeling, P.O. Box 546, 1610 Eoff St., Wheeling, WV 26003 (304-233-2992) or to the American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741 (1-800-227-2345).
