Genevieve "Jenny" Beaudry

Southbridge: Genevieve P. "Jenny" (Rice) Beaudry, 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Monday, June 10th, in the Quaboag Rehabilitation and Skilled Care Center, West Brookfield, after a long illness.
Her husband of 52 years, Edward J. Beaudry, Sr., passed away in 2010. She leaves her four children, Edward J. Beaudry, Jr. and his wife Denise of Middletown, CT, Carol Quigley of Austin, TX, Jayne McDonald and her husband Kevin of Woodstock, CT and Suzanne Adams and her husband Allen of Southbridge; her two brothers, James Rice, Jr. of North Grosvenordale, CT and John Rice of Thompson, CT; her sister, Mary Babbitt of Thompson, CT; her nine grandchildren, Mathieu Morin, Kayla Cate and her husband Chandler, Zachary Morin, Bradley Ti'Adoro, Edward J. Beaudry, III and his wife Linsey, Douglas Adams, Tighe Quigley, Nicholas Adams and Dennis Beaudry and his wife Ashley; her five great grandchildren, Abel Ti'Adoro, Grady Cate, Aiden Sandford, Charlotte Mae Beaudry and Bailey Rose Beaudry; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, Edward Rice and her two sisters, Helen Miner and Jane Nichols. Jenny was born in Holyoke the daughter of the late James and Jennie (Hodak) Rice. She was a graduate of the former St. Joseph's High School in North Grosvenordale, CT.
Jenny was a hairdresser for many years at Rita's Hair Salon (formerly Edward's House of Beauty and Doris's Hair Salon) in Southbridge, retiring several years ago. She was a longtime active member of St. Mary's Parish (now St. John Paul II Parish) in Southbridge. She was a member of the former St. Mary's Elementary School PTA and helped to run the St. Mary's Parish Bingo. Jenny loved gardening and working around her home. She was a fan of all of the New England sports teams and enjoyed watching golf. She enjoyed playing Cribbage with her husband and always enjoyed a good game of chance.
Her funeral will be held on Tuesday, June 18th, from the Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, with a Mass at 11:00am in St. Mary's Church of the St. John Paul II Parish, 263 Hamilton St., Southbridge. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Southbridge. Calling hours in the funeral home will be held on Monday, June 17th, from 5:00 to 8:00pm.
