Genevieve Marabella Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hayes Funeral Home, Inc. on Nov. 19, 2024.
SANTA FE – Mrs. Genevieve Marabella passed away at the age of 90 on November 15, 2024, in Santa Fe.
Genevieve was born in Vitry-le-Francois, France on December 15, 1933. She was proud of her French heritage and was known for her beautiful French accent, which she carried through life. Genevieve met Nunzio Marabella while he was stationed in France and in 1957, they were married – sharing 66 dedicated years to each other before his passing in 2023. She loved Nunzio and they enjoyed traveling around the world together. The couple joined Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in 1977 where they would remain parishioners for over 40 years. Genevieve liked cooking French cuisines, filling the home with wonderful smells of her mother land. She found pleasure in simple things like flowers and spending time with her cat but most of all, she was a loving mother and grandmother who adored seeing her family succeed. She was a woman of grace and style who will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Fernand Zieger; husband, Nunzio Marabella; granddaughter, Dana Nicole Marabella; sister, Madeline Bujega.
Survivors include her son, Peter Marabella and wife, Jody; daughter, Anna-Marie Kempf and husband, Rick; grandchildren, Heidi Ritchey (Justin), Erin Lee (Keith), Dr. Holly Marabella (Brandon), Katie Belt (Garrett); great grandchildren, Kaylee Belt, Christian, Jaxson, Bryce and Ryder Lee, Ty and Bella Ritchey, Canton Kempf and Connlann Stewart.
Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. with funeral services beginning at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, November 21, 2024, in the chapel of Hayes Funeral Home, with Father Thomas Vellappallil officiating. Interment will be at Galveston Memorial Park.
Pallbearers will be Garrett Belt, Canton Kempf, Christian Lee, Jaxon Lee, Keith Lee, Justin Ritchey and Brandon Wells.
