Theresa Marabella Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Costello-Runyon Funeral Home - Metuchen on Feb. 17, 2025.
Theresa Marabella, 79, loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister of Plainfield died peacefully on Saturday, February 15, 2025.
Theresa was born in Ribera, Sicily, Italy to the late Giacchino Miceli and Gaetana Riggi. She lived in Elizabeth, Edison and Colonia before moving to Plainfield. She loved cooking and baking for her family and friends, especially on Sundays and holidays. Some of her favorite cooking companions were her grandchildren, many of whom she passed down her renowned recipes to. Theresa's memory will surely live on as these recipes are recreated for many Sunday dinners to come.
She is predeceased by her husband of 51 years, Carmelo Marabella in 2015 and her son, Jack Marabella in 2023.
Theresa is survived by her two children, Paul Marabella and his wife Trisha of Manasquan and Carmine Marabella and his wife Laine of South Plainfield, as well as her daughter-in-law, Jackie Marabella of Plainfield; her brother, Joseph Miceli; her sister, Margie Ciardi; eight grandchildren, Teresa Tarantola (and husband Anthony), Michael, Courtney Ross (and husband Ryan), Nicholas, Carmen, Lia, Sofia and Emma; two great-grandchildren, Eliza and Anthony Jack, and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 at 9:45am from the Costello-Runyon Funeral Home, 568 Middlesex Avenue (Rt. 27), Metuchen followed by a 10:30am Funeral Mass at St. Helena's RC Church in Edison. Interment will be in Saint Gertrude Cemetery, Colonia.
Visitation will be on Friday, February 21, 2025 from 4 to 8 pm at the funeral home.
