With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Gentry, a radiant soul who embraced life with boundless energy, kindness, and adventure. She lived with a zest that was infectious, making the world a more beautiful and exciting place for everyone who knew her.
Gentry's life was a journey filled with passion, creativity, and generosity. She thrived in the entertainment industry, working as a Casting Director for The Jamie Kennedy Experiment and Howie Do It with Howie Mandel, and as a Production Coordinator for Scare Tactics. Her keen eye for talent and ability to bring people together made her an invaluable force behind the scenes. But beyond Hollywood, she wore many hats-working as a nanny in New York and a beloved "startender" in Texas, where she made fast friends and lasting memories.
Her adventurous spirit led her across the world, with Cancun, Playa Del Carmen, Greece, Paris, and Las Vegas holding special places in her heart. She had a way of making every destination feel like home, welcoming strangers as friends and soaking up every ounce of culture, beauty, and experience.
Cooking was her love language, and she found joy in bringing people together over a great meal. Whether she was whipping up a feast for friends or lending a helping hand to someone in need, Gentry gave selflessly-she would quite literally give you the shirt off her back. Her kindness knew no limits, and her generosity left a lasting imprint on the hearts of many.
She is survived by her Mother Sue Ferdig and Sister Jody Ferdig, who will forever cherish her laughter, love, and the adventures she took them on. Though the world is dimmer without her, her spirit will live on in every act of kindness, every shared meal, and every journey taken in her memory.
A visitation with Gentry will be held from 2:00 to 4:00pm Thursday, March 6, 2025 at McHenry Funeral Home. A celebration of Gentry's incredible life will be held at 1:00pm Saturday March 8, 2025 at McHenry Funeral Home. In honor of her giving nature, donations can be made to a charity of your choice in her name.
Rest easy, dear Gentry. Your adventure continues in the stars.
