Geoffrey Alan Darveau was born in Denver, Colorado, on January 24, 1956, the youngest of three children born to Hugh and Eleanore (Keller) Darveau. He passed away peacefully at home on August 20, 2025, from pancreatic cancer. He graduated from Bear Creek High School. From an early age, Jeff displayed a quiet strength and a generous spirit that would define his life. He was a kind, gentle, and patient man, deeply devoted to his family, and served as a loving caretaker for his father for many years—a role he embraced with compassion and grace.

Jeff had a creative soul. He enjoyed painting and drawing, often choosing cars and sports as the subject of his artwork. He was especially skilled with his scroll saw, carving intricate wood pictures that reflected both precision and imagination. He loved making whirligigs, often creating his own designs (a C. U. Buffalo, pink flamingos, leprechauns and many, many birds.)

Jeff was an avid sports fan and enjoyed watching every game he could of his beloved Denver Broncos, Rockies, Nuggets, and Avalanche. He knew so much about sports, including obscure statistics and game details and was always ready to have a sports conversation with anyone willing. He always held out hope for another Bronco Super Bowl Championship.

When Jeff faced his own battle with cancer, he did so with remarkable courage. Though he endured pain, he never complained. Instead, he met each day with quiet determination, facing his illness head-on and inspiring those around him with his resilience.

Jeff’s legacy is one of love, creativity, and strength. He will be remembered not only for the beauty he created with his hands, but for the kindness he showed in every part of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Vickie, nine aunts, nine uncles and their spouses and several cousins. He is survived by his sister LaNae (Nick) Hardy, nieces and nephew: Emily Green, Andrea Sammells, Tamara Delgado, Alison Hardy, Kevin Landin, and Veronica Landin; grand nieces and nephews: Delaney Green, Lyla Skubish, Elizabeth and Mackenzie Sammells, A. J., Lenore and Eloise Delgado and Jacob and Brian Landin, one aunt, Roseann Nolte, and numerous cousins.

The family would like to express their gratitude to Collier Lutheran Hospice for their kind and caring help during Jeff’s illness. The nurses and staff were invaluable in helping our family.
