Geoffrey W. Lewis, a devoted family man, retired Army veteran, and esteemed civil servant, died suddenly of natural causes on July 5, 2023 in Baltimore, MD. Born in Vancouver, Washington on June 13, 1943, Geoffrey's life was marked by a commitment to his family and his country.
Geoffrey was the cherished husband of Patricia Reed and the proud father of Jeanette Kranacs, William Langham Jr., and Andrew Lewis. He was also a loving father-in-law to Kevin Kranacs, Donna Langham, and Amanda Lewis. His joy for life was amplified by his grandchildren, Kyra, Kyle, and Caroline Kranacs, who brought him immense happiness. Geoffrey was the brother of Stanley Lewis, Lou Dishneau, and Diane Gilmore, and the proud son of the late Ardist Johnston and John Lewis.
After completing his Bachelor's degree at the University of Maryland, Geoffrey went on to earn his Master's degree from Johns Hopkins University. His passion for learning and commitment to service were evident in his educational and career choices. He served his country in the United States Army, a role that he embraced with dedication and honor.
Upon his retirement from the Army, Geoffrey embarked on a second career with the Department of Defense. He was known for his unwavering commitment to his work and his enduring loyalty to his colleagues. Lewis will be remembered not only for his achievements but for the man he was - a loving husband, a devoted father, an adoring grandfather, a proud veteran, and a passionate historian.
