George D. Andrew, aged 58, passed away peacefully on June 28, 2025, in New City, NY, following a courageous two-and-a-half-year battle with cancer, in the arms of his wife.
Born on November 15, 1966, in New Rochelle, NY, to Mildred and Gerald Andrew, George David Andrew spent his childhood years in North White Plains living with his mother, great uncle and aunt who loved him dearly. His life was characterized by warmth, love, and an unwavering pursuit of his passions and adventure. Known affectionately as "Turbo" for his boundless energy and zest for life, he established deep roots within his community and formed enduring friendships.
George met his wife, Luba, in a coffee shop in White Plains, NY. They were married twenty years ago and together raised their son Daniel, whom George regarded as his greatest love and pride. Throughout their marriage, Luba provided steadfast support and love, standing by his side through every challenge.
In his professional career, George was highly respected for his dedication and expertise. Renowned for his skills in sales and his knowledge of bike and ski mechanics, earning admiration from colleagues and friends.
Outside of work, George had a wide range of interests and talents. He held a profound appreciation for classical music, sports, astronomy and any kind of adventure—passions he shared with friends and family. His infectious laughter, sarcastic humor, and kind spirit significantly enriched the lives of those around him.
George will be remembered not only for his accomplishments but also for his kindness, humility, and the happiness he brought to others. A dedicated family man, he leaves behind a legacy of love and cherished memories that will continue to be treasured by his family, friends, and all who knew him.
Predeceased by his father Gerald Andrew, George is survived by his devoted wife Luba, their son Daniel, and his mother Mildred. He was a supportive father, husband, son, and brother-in-law.
George's passing represents a profound loss, yet his spirit will continue to inspire those he touched.
A service to celebrate his life will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd, 2025, at Ballard Durand Funeral Home in Hawthorne, NY, from 10AM to 1PM followed by burial at Gates of Heaven at 1PM, where family and friends will gather to honor his memory.
Rest in peace, George D. Andrew. Your light will shine on, eternally.
