It is with our deepest sorrow in our hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved father George A. Baca Sr. George passed away on August 4, 2025, at the age of 89 years old surrounded by his son George Jr. grandchildren Danielle and Nicholas and great grandchildren.
George was born to the union of Alejandro and Victoria Baca on February 21, 1936, in Saticoy CA., he was raised in Ventura, California. George attended Ventura High School where he met his high school Sweetheart Sally Ortiz. They were married October 1, 1955, in Ventura, CA. As George and Sally began their life together of 34 years they bought a home in Oxnard, Ca where, they welcomed into the world their children Marlena (1956) and sons George Jr. (1958) Alexander (1959) and Michael (1961).
George Sr. started his career first in the automotive industry but soon found his way working for Caterpillar Tractor in Ag Sales for 36 years. On his off time, he loved coaching his son’s baseball teams at Sunset Little League where he became well known by getting involved not only with coaching but together with Sally helping in the snack bar and even helping with getting donations to build a new minor league field at Durley Park. As his kids got into their high school years, they all attended Santa Clara HS.
George Sr. was very involved especially with helping run the farmers market during the school fiesta. George Sr. was also a active member of the Knights of Columbus in Oxnard.
George Sr. enjoyed traveling with his wife, going as far as Italy, France, Spain, Greece and Eygpt to visit the ruins and pyramids. George loved canning his famous yellow chilles and BBQ with family. Besides teaching life lessons to his children who he adored he also enjoyed sitting in his backyard with his family and enjoying a nice cold Miller Lite. His love for country music led him to love listening to Johnny Cash or watching his SF Forty Niners and SF Giants.
George will be deeply missed and remembered by his son George Jr. who he would call at all hours of the day or night lol and his grandchildren Dani & Nicholas many family members, friends, and all those that he impacted throughout his life.
George leaves behind his children, George Jr. Wife (Elvy) Simi Valley, Alex, Ventura, Michael from Victorville and daughter Marlena from Sacramento, CA. Grand Children Danielle Cruz Husband (Daniel) Ventura, Nicholas Baca Ventura, Sarah Baca Oxnard, Sofia Baca Oxnard. Great grandchildren Rylan Baca, Nathaniel Baca, and Emilia Cruz (Ventura). and God daughter Michelle Ortiz (Ventura).
Special thanks to Serena Rossetto and Marilyn Baca for always putting a smile on his face.
George is preceded in death by his Wife Sally Ortiz Baca.
