Mr. George M. Bartlett

Mr. George M. Bartlett, age 86 of Dover, Delaware passed away peacefully at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford Delaware on Monday, December 15, 2025. Born in New York City, New York, he was the son of Helen D. (Meeka) Bartlett and James M. Bartlett. George was raised in Northampton, Massachusetts and attended Northampton High School. George opened his first restaurant at a young age in Hatfield, Massachusetts. He went on to own and operate two restaurants in Northampton, Massachusetts. George also had a working career as an owner and trainer of his beloved standardbred horses. He raced at various racetracks in Massachusetts, Maryland, and Delaware. George enjoyed a lifetime of playing poker and played in several World Series of Poker tournaments in Las Vegas. In addition to his late parents, George was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Bartlett. He was also predeceased by his longtime partner, Bette Murray. George is survived by his three daughters, his seven grandchildren, and his three great grandchildren. He will be missed by his close friends and neighbors. Arrangements have been entrusted into the care of Williams Funeral Home and Burial Services. Service plans are private at this time with a private spring burial with his family, which will be held in Massachusetts.
