George Bowman, age 67, of Star, passed away on July 21,2024, at his residence.
Mr. Bowman was born on August 21, 1956, in Moore County to George and Martha Hough Bowman. George was known for his skill as an upholster for many years. He found great joy in fishing and cherished spending time with his family, especially his daughter who held a special place in his heart. George will be remembered as a hardworking individual who always extended a helping hand to others.
He is survived by his life partner Carol Hicks of the home; daughter Jamie Bowman of the home; mother Martha Pate of Robbins; sister Brenda Farris (Alex) of Robbins; brother Jackie Bowman of Robbins; stepchildren Trudy Jean Spivey (Ronnie); and Jeremy Sewell. As well as grandchildren Austin Warren, Haleigh Gholden, Kelly Gholden, Dakota Spivey (Courtney) and Sailor Hunter Spivey and great grandson William Spivey.
A funeral service will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Phillips Funeral Home Chapel at 2:00 pm with Rev. Jimmy Shirlen officiating. Burial will follow at Norman Cemetery.
