Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, Inc. - HarringtonGeorge Buckler, Farmington, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family, on Saturday, October 4, 2025, he was 64. George was born in Leonardtown MD, to the late Mary Ellis and Joseph Buckler.
George worked many years for Emlyn Construction Company. When he was not hard at work, he enjoyed fishing with his grandchildren and hunting with his sister Ida or best friend Kenny. He recently shot a prized 12-point buck that he was very proud of. He also enjoyed shooting pool for many years at Harrington Moose Lodge.
Above all, George valued spending time with his wife and family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Lisa; his children, Jennifer (Daniel) Walker, April (Toby) Waller, and Heather Greenlee; his five grandchildren, Emma, Hillary, Ryan, Jaida, and Lilliana; his siblings Joseph Jr., Robert, Wille, Dorothy, Ida, Mary (Dee), Marie, Hope, and Mary Ann (Annie). He enjoyed having his siblings together as often as time allowed and talked to many of them weekly if not daily.
George was always comical; he loved making people laugh. His joking nature and kindness will forever be missed by his family and close friends.
George was preceded in death by his father, Joseph; mother Mary; brothers Harry (Bucky), Edward, James (Jimmy), John (Mike), and Victor; his sister, Betty Ann.
A funeral service will take place on Tuesday, October 14th at 11AM, at the Thomas E. Melvin & Son Funeral Home, 15522 S. DuPont Hwy., Harrington, DE, with a visitation starting at 10AM. Interment will follow immediately after the service at the Hollywood Cemetery, Harrington, reception to follow at Ellendale Fire Company.
In lieu of flowers, please donate blood or platelets to the Blood Bank of Delmarva. His family is so grateful to all the volunteers who donated before and kept him with us for as long as it did.
