George "Budd" Franklin Smith, born on May 28, 1963, in Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 13, 2025, at Transitions Hospice in Raleigh, North Carolina, surrounded by his beloved family.

A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson, North Carolina. Pastor John Jernigan will be officiating. Family and friends are invited to gather to honor and celebrate the life of George "Budd" Smith-------- remarkable man whose love for those around him will be deeply missed.

Budd was a devoted husband of 20 years to Laura Smith and cherished the life they built together. He was a proud father to his son, Anthony Smith, and his wife, Whitney, as well as his daughter, Amanda Kasie Smith. As a grandfather, he will be lovingly remembered by his grandsons, Logan Smith, Lucas Smith, and Lance Smith, who brought immense joy to his life. Budd is also survived by his parents, William "Bill" and Ruby Smith, and his brothers, Matthew Smith and Derek Smith. His niece, Kelly Tipton, will hold fond memories of her uncle close to her heart.

Budd proudly served in the Army as an Air Traffic Control Operator, a role that showcased his commitment and dedication. His service enriched his character and added depth to the life he led after his military career.

Known for his love of family and friends, Budd had a vibrant personality. He had a passion for riding his motorcycle, a pursuit he enjoyed almost as much as spending time with his family. His playful spirit shone through as he often entertained those around him with his jokes and lighthearted banter. In addition to his playful nature, he enjoyed playing pool and engaging in cribbage card games, as well as preparing delicious meals for his loved ones. Budd's zest for life made him a cherished companion to all who knew him.

Family will receive friends after the Celebration of Life service in the visitation room on Saturday, June 21, 2025, at Rose & Graham Funeral Home in Benson.
