Because the later years were cloaked in frustration and uncertainty; it is too easy to forget the real George. I haven’t forgotten. I remember how you knew it would be a wild night when he was hooked up with brothers Chet and Matt. I know I never heard all the stories – but I have pretty good idea of what went on. I remember George proudly telling stories of moose, deer and an occasional cocktail in the woods. And I remember the Muskie in the trunk! I still remember it as the biggest fish I ever saw (in the back of a car anyhow). And I remember that broad smile, when that smile still had something behind it.
It is these memories that helps bring a feeling of peace at this time. I hope the entire Cicharz family can hold on to that feeling of peace during this difficult time.

I think of George in Germany after finding a Large BEER tent. Him sitting there wide eyed mouth open, with the biggest grin on his face,. I think I know where he is at now

Dear Rita and family,
It is very sad when sickness can rob our loved ones of their true being. I'm glad I have the memories given to me by George. I will always remember the days we hunted together. God Bless George and all of you. George was a hard worker and family provider. He is from "The Greatest Generation".

To the whole Cicharz family, I am so sorry for your loss. I know George is at peace now, and that comforts me, and hopefully it does for you as well. And to my dear uncle George, in a family as large as ours, we are lucky if we even know everyone's name, let alone being able to create a bond with anyone. I did have a special bond with you and it meant so much to me. Everyone has their own memories of you, but for me, you and Rita took the time to spend with me. I thank you for all the memories growing up, going to the lake, fishing and just hanging out(even with a cast up to my knee). And with everything you were dealing with, you still managed to make it to my wedding, a highlight of my day, that truly meant so much! I am also very thankful for the time I got to spend with you these past years. I know it was difficult for you, but what joy it brought to my heart to see your big blue eyes light up when I came for a visit. The funny thing is...you didn't have to search for words, just sitting with you was enough. I only wish I could have been there more often. George, to me, you had a gentle soul inside a tough exterior. You will always have a special place in my heart and I will always remember you! Be free now George, from all the pain and frustration. Move with ease and speak the words that had escaped you for so long. You will always be "my George". Love, Tina
