In Loving Memory of George Henry Conrad (12/13/1950 - 8/7/2023)   It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of George Henry Conrad, a cherished resident of Abita Springs, Louisiana. Born on December 13, 1950, George peacefully transitioned from this world on August 7, 2023, at the age of 72.   George is survived by his beloved partner and best friend, Bea, who stood by his side through life's journey. Bea's presence infused his days with boundless joy and serenity. His legacy lives on through the family he held closest to his heart: his sons Geoffrey Conrad and wife Jennifer, Christopher Conrad, and wife Erin. He was the adoring grandfather of Aidan, Gavin, Heath, Emily, Brandon, and Cora,  each of whom brought immeasurable joy to his life.   George's strong family bonds extended to his surviving siblings, Donald Conrad, wife Carmen, and Kathy Nunez. Through thick and thin, they shared the unbreakable ties of brotherhood and sisterhood.   George's dedication to service was evident in his proud tenure in the United States Coast Guard, where he forged lifelong friendships that remained a cornerstone of his life. His camaraderie with fellow servicemen enriched his experiences and solidified the values of duty and honor that he carried throughout his life.   An avid outdoorsman, George found solace and delight in the art of fishing. Nature's serenity provided him a peaceful escape, and his love for the sport was only rivaled by his affection for his two loyal companions, Sophie-Do and Addie, his beloved puppies   George held dear memories of his parents, George Conrad Sr. and Hermina Conrad, who has passed before him. Their guidance and love shaped the man he became and remained an integral part of his legacy.   As we mourn the loss of George Henry Conrad, let us remember the laughter he shared, the love he gave, and the indelible mark he left on the lives he touched. In our hearts, he will forever remain a beacon of strength, kindness, and devotion.   A memorial service to celebrate George's life will be held on Friday 8/11/2023 at 1:00 meditation at St. Joseph Abby. (75376 River Rd, St Benedict, LA 70457). Mass and interment will follow. Repast: 7165 Edgewater Dr. (Meadowbrook subdivision) Mandeville LA.    In lieu of floral offerings, we kindly ask for contributions to George's beloved charity, St. Jude. Your donations can be made at http://fundraising.stjude.org/goto/St_Jude_GeorgeConradMemorial. Your generosity will honor his memory in a meaningful way.   Rest in peace, George. Your memory will forever light our paths, and the love you shared will continue to inspire us all.

George was always a friendly, gentle person who usually had a smile on his face. We went to high school together at St. Aloysius but spent good times around his parents house on Hayne Blvd. May he rest in peace.

Sorry to hear of the homegoing of George. My condolences to his family and loved ones. I knew him from work. He hired me more than 15 years ago at Wink engineering. He always treated me fairly and with respect, and I will aways appreciate that. Rest in Peace.
