In the words of Mark Twain, "The fear of death follows from the fear of life. A man who lives fully is prepared to die at any time." George Luis Cruz, fondly known as 'Smooch', embodied this sentiment with his vibrant spirit and zest for life. Born on September 5, 2024, in Camden, New Jersey, George became a beacon of light in his community, inspiring those around him with his courage, resilience, and unwavering optimism.
George spent his fifty years in Camden, a town he loved dearly and considered his sanctuary. Though he never married or was formally employed, his life was far from ordinary. George was a pillar of strength and a source of joy for his family and friends. His radiant smile was infectious, and his goodwill knew no bounds. Despite the challenges he faced, George remained positive and full of life, teaching everyone around him the true meaning of resilience.
George is lovingly remembered by his sister, Johanna Cruz, his father, Juan Ruiz, and his cherished niece, Destiny. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Gloria Lopez. As we mourn the loss of our dear George, we also celebrate his life and the indelible mark he left on us all. After all, as Emily Dickinson once wrote, "Unable are the loved to die, for love is immortality."
We warmly invite you to share your treasured memories and photos of George on his memorial page. Please join us in commemorating a life richly lived and dearly missed. Let us remember him not for his departure but for the joy, love, and warmth he brought into our lives.
