George Danas Obituary

George Danas
George Danas, age 58, a man of few words but immense love, passed away peacefully with his beloved wife, Jennifer, by his side. Known for his gentle nature and his ability to make everyone feel cherished, George's love language was evident in his every thought and action. Jennifer and his daughter, Amanda, knew this better than anyone.
George had a passion for cooking and took great joy in feeding his family and friends. His face would light up whenever he saw one of his loved ones, a testament to the deep connections he cherished. Point Beach was his happy place, and there was nothing he loved more than watching sunsets with his family and neighbors, who became family.
George was born 4/11/66, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was proud to have been born in the city that housed his NFL team, the Pittsburg Steelers. He managed Napa Auto Parts in Stratford for over 20 years, where he was known as "Napa George". He loved to surround himself with his dear friends, Mike, Mona, Rick, and Trudy.
George didn't like to ruffle any feathers, and avoiding conflict was his life's mission. George preached patience, often stating he was not "rushian," he was Greek. He lived his life by the Golden Rule, "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." He had an infectious belly laugh and enjoyed sitting around the fire, serenading his wife with love songs, going on family date night and sipping Coors Light.
He was predeceased by his mother, Marie Murphy, and his father, Nicholas Danas. George leaves behind his beautiful wife and best friend, Jennifer, and his two daughters, Amanda and Brianna. He also is survived by his three brothers: Jon, Dean, and Christopher and his nieces and nephews: Gabby, Andrew (Megan), Meghan, Danielle, Christopher, Alexandra, Samantha (goddaughter), Julie, Kaitlyn and Tahlia.
George died after a short but heroic battle with pancreatic cancer. His memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His legacy of love and kindness will continue to inspire all who were fortunate enough to be part of his life.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Monday, February 10, 2025, at 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 5:00 p.m. at the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street, Milford. A Funeral Service will be celebrated on Tuesday, February 11, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Barbara Greek Orthodox Church, 480 Racebrook Road, Orange, CT 06477 (MEET DIRECTLY AT CHURCH). To the entire Danas Family, my sincerest condolences on the passing of George. I knew him from childhood, North End Little League, and high school at Notre Dame. He was always a great friend, and I´m sorry our paths didn´t cross afterwards. He walked me home from the bus one day when I was really sick; and he got me the scorekeepers position for the boys basketball team ~ I recall those stories from time to time with great fondness. My own father and brothers who he knew from baseball have also passed, and I hope they get to meet up again in Heaven. He was a great kid who grew up to be a great guy ~ so glad to have known him. May your memories and faith comfort you all, until everyone meets again.

George was the best guy anyone could know, I have known George for over 30 years. First at Center Auto then Apco auto parts and Napa auto parts, nobody was better at parts than George, he knew it all and was always cheerful at what he did. My sincere condolences to his wife and daughters and the Danas family. He will be truly missed. RIP Sunshine.
