George Eng Obituary

On January 13, George passed away peacefully at his favorite hospital (Suburban) at the age of 82. A very proud born and raised New Yorker, he was born in Manhattan, went to school on Long Island and in Brooklyn, before moving to Washington DC for his teaching job at the University of the District of Columbia where he worked for 43 years. He loved food, cooking many dinner party and holiday meals, going to the 100 best restaurants in DC, and traveling across the country to eat notoriously famous meals. He was a sucker for bad sports teams (Detroit Lions and Tigers) and got partial season tickets to the Nationals because that was his family's favorite team. He was a one of a kind person and beloved father to 3 children, Felicia, Stephen, and Phoebe, and 4 grandchildren, Abel, Charlie, Brooklyn, and Jacob. He will be dearly missed.
In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation in George's memory to the Animal Welfare League of Montgomery County (https://awlmc.org/donate/).

Although I've only known Mr. Eng for a short time, he always kept me laughing and on my toes whenever he came into the office. I'm so thankful and blessed that our paths crossed and for the time spent getting to know him. He and his ornery sense of humor will be greatly missed. I am so sorry for your loss, Eng family. Sending comfort and condolences to you all. I will continue to lift you in prayer during this difficult time.
