George M Fatzer

George M Fatzer, age 81, of Rockaway Twp, New Jersey, died on Thursday, February 12, 2026 at his home in Rockaway Twp, New Jersey.
George was born in Paterson, New Jersey as the third child to the late Jacob and Wanda Fatzer, and was raised in Lodi, NJ. After high school, George pursued a career in the trades, eventually retiring from Sonrise Metal as a welder. George married the love of his life in 1977 and the pair raised their family in Rockaway, NJ where they have lived for the past 40 years.
George was a devout Catholic and a parishioner of St. Cecilia Church in Rockaway for many years. He enjoyed being a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 10 years.
He could always be found using his hands, finding things to fix up or ways to be crafty. He loved going to the movies and had a fondness for painting, above all he loved family time, especially attending his grandchildren's sporting events.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Jacob and Wanda Fatzer and two siblings, Raymond Fatzer and Joanne Caccavone.
He is survived by his spouse of 48 years Carol Fatzer; three children, Michael Fatzer (Marisa), Nicholas Fatzer (Ashley), and Kristine Danback; one sister, Barbara Entwistle; and his Grandchildren: Brian, Jaeden, Reid, Gabriella, Joseph, George and Inna, .
A Memorial Mass will be held Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 10:00 AM at St. Cecilia's Roman Catholic Church in Rockaway. Inurnment will follow at St. Cecilia's Cemetery.
