George Vincent "Vinny" Greene Sr., 81, of Dexter, Maine, passed away peacefully on February 16, 2025. Born on October 20, 1943, in Melrose, Massachusetts, he was the son of George Henry Greene and Ellen McDonald.
A devoted husband, father, and grandfather, Vinny shared 41 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Kathleen. Together, they built a family rooted in love, raising their children Aaron, Vinny Jr., and Billy. He was preceded in death by his sister Patricia, son Val, and daughter, Sandy. His legacy lives on in his cherished grandchildren-Malinda, Jackson, Adalie, Anderson, Amya, and Archer-who will forever hold his memory in their hearts.
Vinny proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. After his service, he pursued a career as a carpenter and beekeeper, finding joy in working with his hands and caring for his bees. He was incredibly proud of his sons and loved his family. The most important decision he ever made was to accept Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. He loved going to church until his health started to decline, but still tried to stay connected by watching online. He was a member of Charleston Church in Charleston, Maine.
Vinny's life was a testament to resilience and transformation. A recovered alcoholic for 52 years, his journey inspired many with its story of perseverance and hope. He found immense joy in raising his children, always fully invested and present. Never missing a game, he cheered passionately from the stands-sometimes a little too loudly when a referee made a bad call. He enjoyed riding motorcycles, and even got married to Kathy on his Harley Davidson. Later in life, one of his favorite pastimes was tending to his bees alongside his good friend, Ellsworth Perkins. Above all, Vinny and his wife, Kathy, shared a deep and unwavering love.
Due to the care needs of his wife Kathy, the celebration of life will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Faith Temple Church, 189 Lincolnville Ave, Belfast, ME 04915. A reception with food will follow the service. Burial arrangements are to be determined.
Vinny will be remembered for his unwavering love for his family, his strength, and the wisdom he imparted to those around him. His impact will be felt for generations to come.

Vinny was my good friend for over 30 years. We shared our love of Jesus Christ at C.C. and our devotion to family. We met as we began an alcohol free journey.
I will miss Vinny and the many bee keeping adventures we shared. Many laughs were had. Our condolences to Kathy and all his family.
