Mr. George Curtis Heard of Mandeville, Louisiana passed away on July, 21, 2023 at the age of 73. He leaves behind to cherish his loving memories, his wife Jane Lathram Heard , his children Mrs. Mary Julia Witt (Matthew and Evangeline) and Mrs. Emily Jane Miranda (Jason). He also leaves behind his siblings Mrs. Mary Mulloy (Bob), Mr. Matthew Heard (Arlene), as well as his grandchildren; James Hardin Miranda, Townes Curtis Witt, Henry Curtis Miranda and Lilia Jane Miranda.
George Curtis graduated from Monroe County High School in 1968 and received a BS from Auburn University in 1973. He began working for General Motors in 1974 and retired 30 years later. He was head of the GMAC office for the states of Arkansas and Louisiana. For the last decade he has proudly worked for Southern Vehicle Accessories at Hendrick Automotive Group.
Curt enjoyed hunting, fishing, and sharing his love for the outdoors with his grandchildren. "Pop" could often be seen at sports events supporting his grands as their biggest fan. He always had a positive and uplifting spirit. Curt had a great sense of humor, and was an amazing storyteller. He will be remembered for his selflessness and kindheartedness. Curt's life was truly a gift to all who knew him. He leaves behind a legacy full of love for his family, friends, and Jesus Christ.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Visitation on Tuesday July 25, 2023 in the Chapel of Bagnell & Son Funeral Home 75212 Hwy 437 Covington, Louisiana 70435 from 5:30 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
A Celebration Service will be held at First Baptist Church of Monroeville in Monroeville, AL on Friday, July 28th. Visitation with family will begin at 10 and the service immediately following at 11. A Graveside Service to follow at 2:30 in Atmore, AL.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like to ask that donations be made in Curt's name to Catch-A-Dream Foundation.
