George Herring Obituary

George was born in Bayside Queens NY on February 21st, 1936, he was the son of the late Albert J and the late Elizabeth Muller Herring.
George was a graduate of Wappingers High School.
On December 3rd, 1960, at the First Lutheran Church in Poughkeepsie NY George married Sondra Angello. She survives at home.
George was a Civil Engineer for the New York State Department of Transportation retiring in 1992.
George has been a local resident since 1950 previously of Bayside Queens NY.
George was a member of the New York State Wildcat bowling league and a member of the CSEA Union.
George loved collecting coins, he was an avid Yankees fan and a big car enthusiast. He loved his 69 Camaro and his Firebird.
George is survived by his wife Sondra Herring, daughter Lisa Pensiero of Schenectady NY, daughter Georgia and son-in-law John Trott of LaGrange, his grandchildren Angela Pensiero, Madeleine, Nathaniel, Katarina Herring-Trott, great grandchildren Charlotte and Astella Herring-Trott and his sister Elizabeth Wang.
He is predeceased by his brothers Frederick and Raymond.
Calling Hours will be on Wednesday September 3rd, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Timothy P Doyle Funeral Home 371 Hooker Ave. Poughkeepsie NY 12603. Services will follow at 12:00 PM in the Funeral Home with burial to follow at Saint Peters Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made in George's name to Hospice of the Hudson Valley 374 Violet Ave. Poughkeepsie NY 12601.
