We have been friends and neighbors with George (and Magdalena) since buying a home on the same street in 1998. They were the first to welcome us here, and to very quickly inquire if we play bridge. We didn´t, so they offered to teach us. They tried, but since it wasn´t for us they settled for playing other card games, which we did weekly for many years. That was something we always enjoyed. Over the years I learned a few things about them: they loved to dance, they loved to play cards, you could not out give Magdalena, and you could not outwit George. George, in particular, was active in the community and was most proud of his work with children in the Elementary school. He tried to encourage them to learn to broaden their horizons by sharing his experience of travels to other countries, talking of different sights, foods and currencies. He was committed to the mentoring program, and worked diligently to make a difference in children lives, and I believe he did.
We loved George and will certainly miss him. He enriched our lives as he did many others...rest in Peace, dear friend.
