George W. Johnstone, age 86, of State College, PA and formerly Moorestown, NJ passed away peacefully on July 19 at home surrounded by family after a brief illness. Born on September 9, 1938, in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late George T. and Ruth Johnstone.

George is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ann K. Johnstone; sons George D. (Sue) of Mount Laurel, NJ and Gregory of Celebration, FL; five grandchildren, Ryan (Lauren), Adam (Christa), Eric, Kathryn and Emily; three great grandchildren, Dylan, Ella and Ryleigh. In addition, George is survived by his six siblings, Robert Johnstone, Arlene Weikal, Janice Ficca, Gerrie Capsambelis, Guy Green and Carole Puchak along with many loving nieces and nephews.

A graduate of Penn State University (1960, Civil Engineering), much of his professional career was spent at American Water Works from which he retired as President and CEO. He celebrated his faith as a member of State College Presbyterian Church and formerly at First Presbyterian Church of Moorestown.

In honoring George's wishes, the family will not hold a public service or gathering. They ask for your support and encourage loved ones to remember and celebrate the moments shared in honoring his legacy.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in George's name to Gentiva Hospice, 400 Lakemont Park Boulevard, Altoona, PA 16602.
